Screen Play: TIFF 2012 Silver Linings Playbook
The stars: Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, Chris Tucker, Julia Stiles, Jacki Weaver
The gist: A touching and laugh-out-loud (really loud) story about love, football, and crazy people (we mean that endearingly). Bradley Cooper is Pat, a Philadelphia Eagles fanatic just released from the loony bin who reconnects with Lawrence’s Tiffany, the whore next door (again, endearingly).
The buzz: Aside from the leading cast reading like a stacked football roster, this shimmery rom-com/serious drama is solid Oscar gold. And we must mention how wonderful it is to see Chris Tucker again. We’ve missed you, buddy.
